Don Brennan

Don Brennan began exploring holistic healing in 1977 after he was
diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.
He received his first
training in energy healing in 1981. But it wasn't until 1993, when he learned
Reiki, that he began to
offer his services to others. In 1995 he became a Reiki Master, in order to pass
the gift along to others.
As a long-time advocate for Reiki, he was thrilled that through a grant, he was able to train 25 staff members
at Crouse Hospital, to bring
ease and comfort to oncology patients.
Don has received a great deal of additional training in Reiki
techniques from many of the world's leading
Reiki teachers and authors. He teaches and practices Reiki and other energy healing techniques at
Life Center for Well-Being
and is the editor of "Reiki Transmissions."

Reiki Description:
Reiki is a peaceful, gentle, Japanese stress reduction technique
that promotes physical, mental, emotional
and spiritual well-being. The
word Reiki translates as spiritually guided life force energy. A Reiki
practitioner has
received a personal attunement from a Reiki Master, that enables them to tap
into an unlimited supply of this energy
and to send it to the person
they place their hands on. Most people experience the subtle, harmonizing energy
as a soothing,
nurturing warmth that flows from the practitioner's hands. The energy
flows in response to a person's needs,
helping to release pain,
stress, anxiety and trauma. It vitalizes all the body's systems and harmonizes
every aspect
of a person's being. As blocks are released, the person enters a deeper, more
blissful, state of well-being
and becomes more aware of the connection with all of creation. Reiki was developed in 1922, by Mikao Usui,
a simple Buddhist, who first
experienced the energy during a moment of spiritual awakening. It was his
wish that the practice of Reiki would one day spread all over the world, helping
to heal not only the people,
but also the earth itself. Used by millions of people around the globe, Reiki has become the most familiar
and the most frequently
applied individual healing technique in the world today.
Reiki is typically performed in a peaceful, quiet setting with soft
music and low lighting.
The person lies, fully clothed, on a comfortable Reiki table, much like a massage table.
The practitioner lightly
places his hands in a sequence of positions, usually beginning with the head,
going down the
torso to the feet and then down the person's back. All the hand positions are
non-invasive and the beneficial energy
can be transmitted with the
hands a few inches above the body, whenever necessary.
